Missing you...

This is my dad holding our oldest daughter Sarah, just after she was born, June 18th 1999. One and a half months after this picture was taken, my daddy died. Today, July 31st marks exactly 8 years since he's been gone. As you can probably imagine it is really difficult sometimes for me to even look at his picture without being upset. It wasn't my dad's time to go but he went anyway. I always hate this day and the weeks before it as I always have nightmares about him reminding me this anniversary is coming. I miss him so much...he only met our first child and the last time he got to hold her she was just 4 days old. Now Sarah is 8 and we have Adam who is 6, Jack who is 4, Grace who is almost 2 and another baby boy coming in a few months. All of whom never had the pleasure of meeting my dad, their Grandpa Irwin. He was the best dad in the world and our lives have never been nor will they ever be the same. The only happiness I feel is knowing that one day I will see him again in Heaven. My children will one day meet the Grandpa they were robbed of meeting on earth. I know my dad is in Heaven so I should be happy for him. He is no longer hurting or suffering like he did the last days of his life. I can't imagine what he was going through before he died, but I know he now rests comfortably in the arms of our mighty Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. It is hard to be happy that he is up there because I want him here with me, and that is what is so hard to deal with.

So daddy, if you can hear me...please know that we all miss you so very much and will always love you and can't wait for the day that we can one day see you again in Heaven.

Love your daughter,
Melissa

To Mom and Tanya -I love you guys and am thinking of you today as we all suffer from this loss.

Revelation 21:4 (Whole Chapter) He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

That was a shock to see! It is nice to see dad again. When I see him I am like, wow you are so familiar to me, it feels like he is always with me, and I am reminded that he is not when I see him. That was a nice tribute. I Love you too dad! Things would be so different today if you were still here!

Mom says...
Melissa, What a true blessing you are from God. I am so very proud of you, your father is smiling I am sure. Even though he is gone, he has left me with two beautiful daughters, and grandchildren that just amaze me, I know that your father would truly be proud and amazed also that his girls would have such great families. Melissa, you are such a comfort and strength for me, God knew that when he created you. I love you thank you for such a warm memory of your dad.

Merf...I'm so very sorry about your dad. I want you to know that when I lived with all of you as a kid I had so much fun with your dad. With all the funny jokes about barking spiders!!! And also the fact that I felt loved and had a home with you all. It will be a year soon that my mom died... So I know what you mean about the the weeks up to the day and it is hard. I wish you well and I miss him soo much! I Love you and miss you. Tanya and Aunt Carol I love you! Love Crissy
